課程概述 |
This is an intermediate course between elementary dynamics and advanced dynamics. In elementary dynamics, Newtonian formulation is highly emphasized in order to familiarize students the technical parts of dynamics. However, in advanced dynamics most standard courses start from energy principle which usually causes study barrier for beginning students. Therefore, this course is intended to fill such gaps. We start from a smooth transition of Newtonian formulation, through Lagrange approach, and finally reach modern Hamiltonian theory. |
課程目標 |
1. Students can clearly summarize Newton’s laws and the practical usage of such techniques in engineering applications.
2. Students can clear state Lagrange equations for holonomic and nonholonomic constraint dynamics systems and can solve some standard dynamics problems.
3. Students can clearly know the Lie structure of Hamiltonian theory, which can be extended to modern mechanics naturally. |
課程要求 |
An elementary training on basic dynamics (such as Marion or Tayler) and standard undergraduate engineering math are prerequisite to this course. |
